My road leads to oblivion.
I would love to think that it sails
to a golden future of hope,
but it stalls in my own self-bog.
My road leads to a destiny
too small for God to inhabit.
I need His path – the King’s Highway,
the never solitary lane.
My road would only lead to me –
to my kingdom, to my lonely
address. No happiness, too stuffed
with selfishness for Christian joy.
